Dim Sum Victoria Seafood

Victoria Seafood follows on my recent revisit trend. After Yellow Dog Tavern, and Elephant & Castle, I thought I should go back and try their Dim Sum again. original review Victoria Seafood is located at St. Mary’s Road and Dakota. One thing I like about St. Mary’s Road restaurants is that they are one bus from work, and then another back home. As I was visiting a restaurant with seafood in the name, I wanted to make sure I ordered…Continue readingDim Sum Victoria Seafood

Sukkothai Restaurant – Osborne Village

While you may think, judging from my last three posts, that I been living on nothing beyond fried chicken, there are other restaurants I’ve been watching. One of these is Sukkothai restaurant, in Osborne village. Sukkothai Thai restaurant, is one of those places that I visited years ago, before my blogging days. The building it sits in on the west side of Osborne Street was once a KFC, or Champs if you go back far enough. The decor of the…Continue readingSukkothai Restaurant – Osborne Village

Buccacino’s – Osborne Village

Last week was the second time in a row I connected with the Why Cook Wednesday’s Supper Club. The week before we had been in Osborne Village at Carlo’s and Murphy. This time we met at Buccacino’s. Buccacino’s is a traditional Italian restaurant. I think there was something else in that location many years ago, but my memory fails me. The restaurant is large and spacious. When we arrived there were not a lot of people in the restaurant. We…Continue readingBuccacino’s – Osborne Village

Nook Diner-Sherbrook Street

Friday night, I finished the Winnipeg Harvest Poverty Pledge. Saturday morning I was in the mood for a good old-fashioned breakfast. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast. Many of the staff at St. Margaret’s, one of the parishes where I work, regularly visit The Nook Diner on the corner of Sherbrook and Wolseley. I figured I’d give it a try. I went fairly early in the day, hoping that it wouldn’t be too crowded. It wasn’t and I was able to…Continue readingNook Diner-Sherbrook Street

Nick’s on Broadway

Last month I wrote about the Palm Tree Restaurant, located on Ellice by Sherbrook in the old Rasoi location. In the post I commented on how I had never been to Rasoi. Today I’m writing about Nick’s on Broadway. Nick’s on Broadway is also located on the site of a former restaurant. In this case the late, and in my view, not particularly lamented, selFISH Sushi. Visiting Nick’s: The first time I walked into Nick’s I could tell that much of…Continue readingNick’s on Broadway

Red Top Drive Inn

Over the last few months, I’ve featured a lot of the restaurants that are in the vicinity of St. Philip’s. Most of these have been North and or East of the church. At the same time, my job involves me working at St. Mark’s as well. St. Mark’s is located further south off of St. Mary’s just past where St. Anne’s diverges. There are several restaurants along the route, one of the most notable being the Red Top Restaurant. Red…Continue readingRed Top Drive Inn
