Danny’s All-Day Breakfast

It’s been a while since I’ve done any posts about dining at The Forks. So, with the new additions coming in the next few months I figured I should get back to finishing my round up of the current options. The latest place I’ve been checking out is Danny’s All-Day breakfast. I have to admit that I’ve always found Danny’s All Day Breakfast a little odd. Perhaps it’s the little man in what looks like an American flag outfit. Perhaps…Continue readingDanny’s All-Day Breakfast

Fish N Chips from Fergie’s

There’s been a Fish N Chips shop at The Forks Market since the market’s earliest days. The original was Dockside 21 owned and operated by James Murphy one of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers all-time great receivers. Currently the space is occupied by Fergie’s Fish N Chips. Fish N Chips N More: My first time stopping by I opted for the single meal. This meal comes with your choice of cod, pickerel, or if you’re willing to pay a couple of…Continue readingFish N Chips from Fergie’s

Bindy’s Caribbean Delights

Working, as I do, just south of the Assiniboine River, The Forks makes a great place to take a break and stop for lunch. It’s also home to Espresso Junction, so there’s a good coffee place on site to add a finishing touch to my meal. Recently I checked out Bindy’s Caribbean Delights. The Forks has been in the news of late with the planned upgrades to their food court. I’ve been working my way through the various fast food…Continue readingBindy’s Caribbean Delights

Churro Stop, Sweet Stop

As Winnipeg’s food truck scene continues to evolve, one area that is still a little under represented is the dessert area. There are a couple of ice cream trucks, and of course the ice cream bikes. However, other than Tokyo Rabbit, and these ice cream vendors, dessert is still a little hard to find. The entrance of The Churro Stop into the field helps to change this, and in the frozen treat area, Pop Cart sounds like they wish to…Continue readingChurro Stop, Sweet Stop

Espresso Junction – Johnston Terminal

Espresso Junction is now closed. It’s place has been taken by Harrisons. Earlier this year, when I started working the Norwood area, I was glad to find Finales nearby. Sadly, Finales has had to close. This means I am without a good quality coffee shop nearby the church. For those who wonder, neither McD’s or the place named for that hockey player qualify. I will occasionally go to Cafe Postal, but it’s quite a hike. For now, heading off to Espresso…Continue readingEspresso Junction – Johnston Terminal

Tall Grass Prairie (Forks)

Tall Grass Prairie Bakery started off in the Wolseley neighbourhood of Winnipeg. It’s a place I had long been aware of, but didn’t really visit often, until I started to be involved at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church. Many of the members there are long-term, loyal customers. It was only recently that I learned part of the reason for that:  The bakery had it’s beginnings in the basement of the church. From those beginnings it has grown into something of a Winnipeg…Continue readingTall Grass Prairie (Forks)
