All the Devils Are Here – Gamache 16

All the Devils Are Here, is the latest installment in the Inspector Gamache series, by Louise Penny. This time, Armand Gamache is off to Paris for the birth of a grandchild. However, like any detective, trouble and crime seem to follow him wherever he goes. The Inspector Gamache series is one of three that I am following closely. I am trying very hard to stay up to date with him, along with Rebus and Bruno. Last time out I found…Continue readingAll the Devils Are Here – Gamache 16

July 2019 Reading Round Up

The end of July 2019 means I’ve been at these monthly reading round ups for 17 months. I know a year and a half would be a more usual time frame to mark but I like to be a little different. 2019 Roundups January, February, March Fiction, March Non-Fiction, April, May, June July 2019 Reviews This month I’m going to start with my favourite detective fiction writer. March Fiction Reading Round Up

If February was a poor month with only four books read, March is a bonanza with nine books read. February Reading Round Up 2019

Well, this is another month where the book list is rather short. February is Annual Meeting time for the Parish with all that such meetings entail. Also, I wrote an article on Singleness and the Church for our Diocesan newspaper(what with February being the month for love and relationships). So once again there are only four books on the list for this month. On the plus side, I managed to finish Niall Ferguson’s, Kissinger, 1923 -1968, The Idealist. This book was heavy…Continue readingFebruary Reading Round Up 2019

January Reading Round Up

My January reading round up will be a little smaller than most. It’s not that I’ve done less reading, it’s just that at Christmas, I received Niall Ferguson’s, Kissinger. I’m finding that it’s a fascinating book, but it’s very dense and it’s a lot of work trying to work my way through it. However, I did manage to work my way through four other books during January January Book Reviews. All Our Relations – Tanya Talaga One of the most troubling…Continue readingJanuary Reading Round Up

December Reading Round Up

Well, it’s December 31, the  last day of the year. It’s been a good year here at Dining with Donald. The best part is that I’ve been making new connections with other bloggers. My audience has grown, and with that I’ve encountered many new bloggers who have become regular conversationalists. One thing that has happened this year is that I’ve done a lot more reading. Interestingly enough most of my reading has been offline, and that has been what has…Continue readingDecember Reading Round Up
