One Great City Brewing Company

Recently I headed up to One Great City Brewing Company. I first visited this place on The Winnipeg Trolley Company tour. I also ordered from them earlier in the year. One of the things that I liked was that there is a lot of room at One Great City. When I visited last week one of the things I noticed is that they have really high room dividers between tables. This provides a really good barrier between people dining. I’ve…Continue readingOne Great City Brewing Company

Dairi Wip – Marion Street

While I’ve wandered a fair ways down Marion Street, I’ve never stopped at Dairi Wip Drive-In. Part of this is due to the fact that my St. Philip’s office is just a couple of blocks away from Mrs. Mike’s, whose King Burger I really like. In part it’s because I hadn’t really noticed the seating on the side. A few weeks ago, just before we went into a bit of early spring chill here in Winnipeg, I finally ventured down…Continue readingDairi Wip – Marion Street

Walleye Wagon, Fish N Chips

Walleye Wagon Last Wednesday was Canada Day. This is our national birthday, and so it is a day long party. As with any good party there’s lots of food around. This is especially true in the world of food trucks, as many that aren’t on the streets regularly can be found at various Canada Day sites. While wandering around The Forks, one of the trucks I came upon that I hadn’t seen since the previous fall was the Walleye Wagon.…Continue readingWalleye Wagon, Fish N Chips

Fish N Chips from Fergie’s

There’s been a Fish N Chips shop at The Forks Market since the market’s earliest days. The original was Dockside 21 owned and operated by James Murphy one of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers all-time great receivers. Currently the space is occupied by Fergie’s Fish N Chips. Fish N Chips N More: My first time stopping by I opted for the single meal. This meal comes with your choice of cod, pickerel, or if you’re willing to pay a couple of…Continue readingFish N Chips from Fergie’s

Bodegoes – City Place Downstairs

NB: The Bodegoes location in the Exchange has found a new location. This location, in City Place, is still open and going strong.Bodegoes is the former Line-up and there is  a sign just outside the restaurant explaining why the owners chose to make the name change, as well as on their website.  This has become one of my favourite places to grab lunch if I want to go out and am in a hurry.  Situated on the main floor of…Continue readingBodegoes – City Place Downstairs
