Moxies – Downtown, Kenaston


Moxie’s is a restaurant that I hadn’t visited for a long time. It was probably 15-20 years ago that I last had been to one. The only thing I remember from those visits were that the portions were rather large, and the dishes rather unimaginative.

Then I got the opportunity to visit recently thanks to the Downtown Biz Patio Tours. That was at the downtown location at the “who will they add to the naming rights next,” arena.

Since then, there have been a couple of occasion where old friends of me and my family have come through for visits, and we ended up at the Moxie’s on Kenaston for lunch. This has given me a chance to try out a variety of different items, and to observe the food others have received as well. Melt”wich” Food Co – CityPlace


About a week and a half ago I wrote about build your own pizzas. Today I’m writing about Melt”wich” Food Co, which could best be described as build your own grilled cheese sandwich. It appears that the Subway model is taking over the food courts of the world. Perhaps it’s a nefarious ploy to get us to eat more vegetables. Whatever the reason I think a trend is emerging.

My first visit was the day after the place opened. It was clear that the staff will need more time and training before the place begins to run smoothly. I asked what a combo was and if there was a combo deal was. None of the people working knew, and there was no manager around to ask. Continue reading

Millennium Library Park


As a member of the Downtown Biz Image committee, I was invited to the opening of the Millennium Library Park, which took place this morning.  I took a few pictures of the space and am sharing them here.
