The Thursday Murder Club – Richard Osman

The Thursday Murder Club is the first novel produced by British Television quiz show designer, quiz show host, and panel show regular, Richard Osman. I am a big Osman fan. If he is on a show, I’m tuning in. I first encountered his work on the show Pointless, which he co-hosts with Alexander Armstrong. Then he has hosted and guested on my favourite panel show, Have I Got News For You. More recently he has hosted the celebrity quiz show, Richard Osman’s House of Games. When I…Continue readingThe Thursday Murder Club – Richard Osman

The Woman in Green, Jack Todd (August 2020)

My reading inspiration comes from all sorts of sources. In the case of Jack Todd’s The Woman in Green, it’s because I follow the author on Twitter. It wasn’t his mystery writing that caught my attention. Rather, as a Montreal Canadiens fan, I find him to be one of the more restrained and well-thought out commenters on the team. August  July June September 2019…Continue readingSeptember 2019 – Reading Roundup

February Reading Round Up 2019

Well, this is another month where the book list is rather short. February is Annual Meeting time for the Parish with all that such meetings entail. Also, I wrote an article on Singleness and the Church for our Diocesan newspaper(what with February being the month for love and relationships). So once again there are only four books on the list for this month. On the plus side, I managed to finish Niall Ferguson’s, Kissinger, 1923 -1968, The Idealist. This book was heavy…Continue readingFebruary Reading Round Up 2019

A Taste for Vengeance – Martin Walker

The Follow up to A Taste for Vengeance, The Body in the Castle Well, is due out on June 3rd of this year. I can hardly wait.  A Taste for Vengeance, is the latest novel in the Bruno: Chief of Police series by Martin Walker. I only discovered this series earlier this year, and I’ve really enjoyed it. One of the things I like about the series is the emphasis that it places, not only on good food, but also on good company gathered around…Continue readingA Taste for Vengeance – Martin Walker
