Juice Me Juice Truck

This is a belated update, but Juice Me is no longer operating as a Juice Food Truck. Instead they have gone to a model featuring frozen juice capsules. You can visit their website to find out more about their current products.

The ever expanding world of Winnipeg food trucks has a new entry. Juice Me brings to the food truck scene cold-pressed juices. Juices are nothing new, Booster Juice is all over the city and Obby Khan owns Green Carrot Juice Company in addition to his shawarma joints. So it was only a matter of time before this craze hit the road.

In writing about this truck, I’ll say right at the start that my belief in the benefits of juicing isn’t particularly strong. However, if you take the time to Google, there is plenty of information out there on both sides of the argument. I’ll leave it to you to read up and judge for yourselves. With that out of the way, here are a few of my thoughts on this latest food truck.

Two bottle sizes are on offer. A small 8oz for $5.00 and a large 16oz for $9.00. While I question all the nutritional claims about juicing, I did find the 16oz to be quite filling, and I think it could carry me through the afternoon if it was my lunch.  4/5

Juice Me Fuel Me
The Fuel Me

Juice Me carries 8 different varieties of juice. What I enjoyed was that the three I tried were all different in character and flavour. My first beverage was the Fuel Me which contains beet, carrot, apple, lemon, and ginger. The beet and ginger predominated. Next was the Crave Me. This contains carrot, orange, pineapple, ginger, and lemon. The Ginger predominated, and this was the sweetest of the three drinks I tried. The last one I tried was the Lift Me which contains cucumber, pineapple, and cayenne. I would have liked to get more sense of the cayenne, but the cucumber made this the most refreshing of the three I tried. Really enjoyable on a hot day. 4.25/5

Juice Me Quality:

The company’s motto is: Cold Pressed Juice, Raw and Pure. The beverages lived up to this motto. The sweetness in the Crave Me was clearly natural sweetness and not from the addition of sugar, etc. This is a really good beverage. 4.5/5

Easy to carry bottles with caps. ‘Nuff said. 5/5

I’ve happened quite early both days so haven’t run into much traffic. The owner is friendly and efficient. 4.5/5

Juice Me Overall

I happen to like food that I can sink my teeth into. Nonetheless, this makes a great change of pace along the way. One of the things I ask of any truck or restaurant is that it delivers on what it says it delivers. This truck does that. Give it a try when you are out on Broadway. 4.5/5
