Freshii Winnipeg Square

Freshii Winnipeg Square is the second Freshii location I’m writing about. A couple of months ago I visited the Kenaston Iocation. Then, a couple of weeks ago I received an invitation to attend the soft opening of Freshii Winnipeg Square. Thanks to Kevin Sawka for the invitation, and the meal.

Having been at the Kenaston location, which is big and open with lots of windows, I was a little surprised to find the Winnipeg Square location to be smaller. However, the space is used very well, with a counter and a few booths for the customers at the front and the service area at the back. Along one side wall are what only can be described as the periodic table of ingredients. The image below is the one for romaine lettuce.

During the soft opening I enjoyed the spicy lemongrass soup. This was actually the same dish I had tried when I was at Kenaston. It was equally good at both locations.

Along with the meal, we were also given tickets to use for a free meal at a later date. I decided that today would be a good day for that. However, when I went by the location, I noticed that there was a long lineup and decided I’d see what else was available underground.
After doing a quick tour, I wound up back at Freshii Winnipeg Square. I thought it would be a good experience to see what it was like going through the lineup when things were really busy. I will state that I was very impressed.

There’s a great variety of fresh ingredients available at Freshii.

I decided I would take a look at the time when I entered and see just how long a wait I would end up having. It was 12:22 when I joined the line. There were about 15 people ahead of me waiting to place their orders. There were about the same number of people waiting to pick up their orders at the other end as well. Despite the length of both lines, my lunch was in my hands in less than 15 minutes.
This visit I went with the Buddha Bowl, which I also ordered at Kenaston. I think the orders were both the same, because they contain noodles. I’m more of a noodle than a rice fan. The only difference between the two orders, this one came with Pesto Chicken.

Closing thoughts

I hope Winnipeg Square decides to put a couple of tables in the mall outside of Freshii, because with it’s popularity, it’s a little difficult finding a place to sit down. For dine in or take out, the Winnipeg Square version of Freshii will make a great lunch stop when downtown. Thanks again Kevin for the invite.
