Common Eating – The Eucharist

Since I last updated this post on the Eucharist, I’ve discovered that Google likes posts that are at least 1,200 words in length. As a result I’m going through a lot of my old posts to see if I can find ways to reach that baseline number. Some of them have been quite easy as they were already over a 1,000 words. Some, like this one, will take a fair bit more work if I hope to reach the goal.…Continue readingCommon Eating – The Eucharist

Common Eating – Old and New Testament

This is another one of the sections that I’ve been giving a great deal of thought as to how I would like to present it.  In the regular type face sections below you will see that while I put some emphasis on the stories of the Old and New Testament, there was not necessarily a lot of emphasis there originally. There are definitely a lot of changes to this post, and I think, that as I continue to develop this…Continue readingCommon Eating – Old and New Testament

Common Eating – The Meal Itself.

This post on the meal itself for Common Eating, is probably the one that has changed the most since I wrote it. I originally thought that I wouldn’t bother with any textbook. However, I think I’m going to add a cookbook to the list. Not just any cookbook, but the More with Less cookbook. I also think that I will…Continue readingCommon Eating – The Meal Itself.

Common Eating – 2 – Marking

One of the important parts of Common Eating as a course, is finding ways for the students to work together. The marking system will definitely involve credit for the ability to work together. The only problem with this is that I have a natural aversion to anything that resembles a group project. This is in part because I am an introvert among introverts. I’m also very independent. On my two choice Enneagram test I scored an 88 as a number…Continue readingCommon Eating – 2 – Marking

Common Eating (Meals)

Common Eating is an idea for a university or seminary type course that has been sitting in the back of my mind for several years now. Over the next several weeks I hope to go through each of those posts and update and rethink my way through them. I’ll be leaving each new post at the top of my blog for a few days. Any new material will be printed in bold. The original post and the first update can…Continue readingCommon Eating (Meals)

Keeping the Ferial

I wrote this post on keeping the ferial six and a half years ago. I’m reposting it with some change in my thoughts. Not that I necessarily disagree with what I wrote, but that I find my approach to some matters a little changed in the interim. One more thing I have noticed since the start of the pandemic. Eating alone on a regular basis, makes it harder to keep my focus on the amounts I eat at each meal.…Continue readingKeeping the Ferial
