Eucharistic Eating – Bibliography

Eucharistic Eating Bibliography
When a book features a link, it is to a review I have written on this blog. If you go through my reading round ups, you will find some more books featuring shorter reviews.
Starting on Monday, March 6, I will be leading a lecture series through the six weeks of Lent, entitled Eucharistic Eating. The purpose of the class is to look at how we can bring our everyday eating into the Eucharist and the Eucharist into our everyday eating.

This is an ongoing project of mine. This series marks a step along the road. Below I’ve listed a series of books that have or will continue to influence my thinking on the subject. This list is not complete, and I have read most, but not all the books contained therein. I hope as I continue on to work my way through the few that I haven’t been able to read yet.
If you have any suggestion for me to add to this list, please feel free to add them in the comments section beneath the post. Thank you.

  1. Thanks so much for visiting my blog in the piney woods flat lands of Florida’s panhandle, on the Gulf coast, near Pensacola. As a congregant of Christ Church Parish, a wonderful old Episcopal church in downtown Pensacola, I’m particularly intrigued (and inspired) by your evolving bibliography here. Have you read Tamar E. Adler’s An Everlasting Meal: Cooking with Economy and Grace? (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13111958-an-everlasting-meal?) The author’s writing is wonderful and incorporating her concepts into my own kitchen have made a positive difference.

  2. That is a very impressive list of book recommendations. The idea of bringing in the Eucharist to daily eating is one I will think about. It is an interesting idea.
