Flavour Fusion

Flavour Fusion

The sign and some pictures are still there, but Flavour Fusion is gone.

*Flavour Fusion is now closed.

One thing I find with Food Courts is that they tend to be pretty much the same. The two most notable exceptions that I can think of are underground downtown. The food court at 201 Portage has a couple of interesting places, as does the one in the Shops of Winnipeg Square. In the latter is Flavour Fusion.

Flavour Fusion serves wraps, salads, and platters. As well, you can do a make your own meal with a choice of up to 2 meat and 2 side items. The first time I went I had the Shwarma platter. I didn’t find it particularly great, but the portion size was substantial and the price is very reasonable.

I went looking for pictures of this one, but I think I may have accidently deleted them from my phone when I was trying to clean up my disk space.

Flavour Fusion Make your Own Meal

The next visit I decided to give one of the make your own meals a try. I opted for the most basic which is the 1 meat and 1 side option. As you can see from the picture above, the portion size for this meal is quite good. I went with the Mongolian Beef for my meat choice. This comes as a combination of meat and broccoli. The meat was very tender and not overly seasoned. The noodles were a little on the bland side, but still quite enjoyable.

I was also able to ask them to limit the amount of the garlic sauce they put on the dish. This avoided having it drowned in sauce in the way I experienced at Taste of Mediterranean.

My one slight disappointment with Flavour Fusion was that I had to wait before my dish was able to be prepared. I realize I didn’t arrive much after the restaurant opened, but in  a place where your meal is prepared at the counter while you wait, you should have most if not all the options available from the time you open. That said, the Mongolian Beef was definitely worth waiting for.
